The Faculty of Dentistry recently acquired the Safari SAF-3000 all-in-one mobile X-ray unit.

The X-ray unit, approved by Health Canada in 2014, will be used in the Geriatric Dentistry Program and Dentistry’s Community Outreach Program.

Dental teams in the field will now have access to radiographs for treatment planning and consultation on site at community facilities. This will eliminate the need to transfer patients to the dental clinic at UBC.

The mobile X-ray unit was purchased through the UBC Dentistry Community Mobile Clinic Fund.
